The purpose for existing

Provide excellent service to Residents with multiple and complex challenges while assisting the individuals in reducing challenging behaviors in the least restrictive living environment.

Key principles upon which our service is based:

· Assist Residents in moving toward a desirable personal future by developing a person-centered individual service plan taking into consideration the Resident’s needs, wants, strengths and challenges

· Assess each Residents life, social & Residential functional skills so their favorite activities can be seamlessly incorporated into their daily activities

· Support and strengthen their abilities by providing an opportunity to develop age-appropriate social and independent living skills that will enable them to make good healthy choices about their lives that will enable them to function in a less restrictive natural and inclusive environment

· To assist the Residents in meeting his/her maximum potential through the principles of normalization (mirroring the everyday experiences of typical social situations)

· Whenever possible prevent environmental sources of challenging behaviors

· To offer positive programming experiences

· To encourage involvement in culturally valued activities of the Residents choice (Whenever possible, these activities will take place in integrated community settings fostering inclusion with non-disabled people to promote the Residents life satisfaction, personal growth, and relaxation)

· To increase skill awareness factors, i.e., coping and survival skills, making a clear choice when faced with options, the appropriate response to danger, etc.

· Provide a positive home rich in reinforcement opportunities and access to preferred activities

· On-going assessment of treatment efficacies
